Supported Activities

Types of “On The Air” supported

PoLo is currently supports the following “On The Air” types of operations. More will be added over time and if you have a request please ask on the Discord Server.

A single operation can involve multiple activities and PoLo will provide all the fields required to log the contacts for each activity, as well as generate separate ADIF and Cabrillo files as needed.

pine-tree POTA - Parks On The Air

Official Site • Data file downloaded to device. Supports search of nearby references, or by name or code; self and other OP spotting.

PoLo can be used to activate multiple parks and will generate a separate ADIF file for each park reference.

PoLo accepts multiple park references in a single QSO (use a comma or space in the field), and will generate a separate QSO for each park reference in the resulting ADIF file.

Spots for this activity are posted to POTA spots and can be enabled and filtered on the PoLo Spots tab if this extension is enabled.

image-filter-hdr SOTA - Summits On The Air

Official Site • Data file downloaded on device. Supports search of nearby references, or by name or code; self-spotting requires authentication in the Accounts section.

flower WWFF - World Wide Flora and Fauna

Australian Silo SiOTA - Silos On The Air

Official Site • Data file downloaded on device. Supports search of nearby references, or by name or code. Spots for SiOTA are posted to the ParksnPeaks website, see below. Spots from other Silo activations are also listed on the spots page when this activity is enabled and a ParksnPeaks authentication is supplied.

satellite-variant AMSAT - Amateur Satellite

Official Site • PoLo enables the logging of satellite contacts; the local satellite list is not expansive, if your choice of satellite is not available please raise it. Spotting not available at this time. Refer to Satellites topic for setup information.

kiwi-bird ZLOTA - ZL On The Air

Official Site • PoLo enables the logging of ZL On The Air contacts. Spots for ZLOTA activities are posted to ZLOTA spots page as well as to the ParksnPeaks website. The ZLOTA functions require a separate authentication.

Official Site • Although not a separate activity, the ParksnPeaks website is well known in Australia for consolidating/merging spots from many sources and directly receving spots for several of its hosted activites. In particular, ParksnPeaks pulls spots from both POTA and Spotline (WWFF) so PoLo spotting for these activites will appear on ParksnPeaks. It will also receive and publish spots for Silos on the Air (SiOTA - see above). PoLo posts spots to ParksnPeaks for SiOTA. The ParksnPeaks function requires a separate authentication based on Username and PIN.

Custom Activity

If the activity you are interested in is not listed above, you can still add it as a “Custom Activity” as long as the organizers accept ADIF logs using the SIG_INFO fields. (see the ADIF docs)

Currently, candidates for using the Custom Activity include ARLHS (Amateur Radio Lighthouse Society), US Islands on the Air and Beaches on the Air amongst several others. No spotting is available for Custom Activities.

Field Day Activities

There is also a significant list of QSO party and Field Day operations templates
